To celebrate Irish culture ahead of St. Patrick's Day, TH School was honored to welcome Sir Alan McGreevey, the Irish Embassy's Second Secretary, with traditional music group UCC TradSoc of University College Cork, who came to our school to perform for our students.
Our students were entertained and fascinated by the band's improvised melodies and Irish step dance. Students showed their appreciation to the Irish Embassy for this outstanding performance with resounding applause. After the performance, KG students had a chance to speak with the band and learn more about their musical instruments.
TH School students and staff also wore green today in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Those of us in Hanoi will be able to see a little bit more green on Saturday night when Tháp Bút (Pen Tower) in Hoàn Kiếm is lit up in green as part of Tourism Ireland's Global Greening initiative designed to promote Irish culture around the world.
The Kitchen Team rounded out our celebrations today by preparing a traditional Irish dish of beef stew and soda bread for all to enjoy.
