TH School opens for the 2016-2017 academic year
On September 5th, TH School held its first opening ceremony at the site of its Chùa Bộc campus in central Hanoi. Mr Kim Ngọc Chính, Head of the Secondary School, delivered the opening address, marking the beginning of the new school year. He was followed by Principal Horace Vernall, who said he is very happy to be contributing the latest educational advancements to the school's education programs. "In addition to learning objectives," he said, "we want our students to have enjoyable learning experiences so they have more opportunities to accumulate experience and responsibilities for themselves, their families and the community."
The opening ceremony also welcomed leading teachers such as Professor of History Vũ Minh Giang and Professor of Mathematics Ngô Bảo Châu.
Speaking to parents at the ceremony and teaching the first class of the school, Professor Ngô Bảo Châu stressed that TH School provides "a good combination between international and national traditions" with an educational program "developed and promoted as a new model for education in Vietnam."
Principal Vernall's hymn of drumming highlighted Vietnamese tradition and opened the academic year for the school's first cohort. The Opening Ceremony also celebrated the commitment of Founder Thái Hương, whose vision made TH School a reality. In her address to students, Madam Thái Hương said, "I am looking forward to well-prepared learning conditions, with a well-developed curriculum, with dedicated teachers and students" who together will represent the next generation of leadership in Vietnam and around the globe.
