Job Description
Job Summary / Purpose
The Secondary Co-Teacher plays a vital role in delivering a high-quality, bilingual learning experience for students in Grades 6–12 under the IMYC, IGCSE, and A-Level programs. Working collaboratively with International Teachers, the Co-Teacher supports lesson delivery, student engagement, and academic progress. This role bridges communication between teachers, students, and parents to ensure a holistic and supportive educational environment that aligns with TH School’s mission and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support
- Co-teach in English with International Teachers across subjects and grade levels (Grades 6–12) following the IMYC, IGCSE, and A-Level frameworks.
- Support lesson planning, material preparation, and classroom organization to ensure smooth and effective delivery of instruction.
- Assist with differentiation, tutoring, and academic support for individual students or small groups as needed.
- Cover lessons in the absence of International Teachers, maintaining consistent instructional quality and classroom management.
Classroom and Student Management
- Co-manage classroom routines and student behavior in alignment with school policies.
- Utilize digital teaching platforms such as Google Classroom, Learning Management System (Engage), etc. to enhance teaching, communication, and record-keeping.
- Maintain an orderly, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to student learning and wellbeing.
Student Progress and Communication
- Serve as co-head of class alongside the International Teacher, monitoring student progress and development holistically—academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, and support parent-teacher conferences.
- Prepare student reports and documentation as required by school administration.
Professional Collaboration and Development
- Participate in school and departmental meetings, professional learning sessions, and teacher training programs.
- Contribute to report writing, post-training reflections, and other professional documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and maintain instructional consistency across the secondary program.
School Events and Administration
- Support the planning and organization of school-wide extracurricular and cultural activities (e.g., Winter Concert, Tet Festival, Ring the Golden Bell, Open Day, ECAs).
- Assist in ordering and managing classroom equipment, teaching aids, and learning resources.
- Provide timely updates or reports on class situations or special circumstances to the School Administrator.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certificate or relevant pedagogical qualification.
Experience
• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (preferably in bilingual or international school settings).
• Familiarity with international curricula such as IMYC, IGCSE, or A-Level is an advantage.
