Duties and Responsibilities
Planning
-
Design and document units of study and pacing guides that are aligned with curricular aims and objectives and learning frameworks.

Plan engaging and purposeful lessons that are aligned with the curriculum (e.g. units of study, aims and objectives, and pacing guides).

Incorporate strategies in planning that meets the diverse learning needs of students.

Identify and use resources and applications to enrich learning.

Plan collaboratively with team and/or department members.
Instruction
-
Use high impact research based instructional strategies (e.g. inquiry, timely and actionable feedback, etc.) to engage students in optimal learning.

Deliver quality instruction that is purposeful and differentiated in order to meet the diverse learning needs of a multilingual student population

Uses a variety of technology tools to support instruction, integrating student technology skill development with content learning.

Provide academic assistance to students as needed, offering guidance in their subject or general study skills.
Assessment

Design formative and summative assessments to collect evidence of student learning and understanding.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents.

Encourage students to reflect critically on their learning with the aim of continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Background

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree

2+ years of experience of full time teaching at a progressive and/or international school community.

Current international qualification / certification in teaching area.

Experience with [IB, IPC, Cambridge, or specific curriculum framework] is highly desirable.

Deputy Head of Section Vinh Campus
Location: TH Schools- Vinh Campus
Reports To: Head of Section Vinh Campus, Superintendent
Directly supervises: Vinh Campus International Section Faculty
Position Summary:
The Deputy Head of Section will assist the Head of Section in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Vinh Campus by providing the necessary leadership to fulfil our vision and mission and making student learning the highest priority. Specific areas of responsibilities include providing instructional leadership and overseeing student life and student discipline. The Deputy Head of Section will also assist the Principal with teacher supervision and evaluation, academic standards, and monitoring student support services. The Deputy Head of Section assumes a part-time teaching role.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership

Ensure appropriate balance, rigour and support for academics and extracurricular activities.

Ensure that student performance data is used to inform instruction and to improve educational programs and student learning.

Assists the Head of Section in appraising (supervision, coaching, and evaluation)
-
Provides leadership for the Vinh Faculty/Staff, including designing and leading weekly meetings.
-
Assist and support the Head of Section in the recruitment, orientation, and assignment of Vinh faculty/staff.
-
Assists the Head of Section in the design and administering the Vinh master schedule.
Student Life
-
Monitors student performance and progress (Engage, faculty meetings, etc.) and works with teachers to develop appropriate interventions.
-
Coordinates the Extra Curricular Program (ECA’s) on the Vinh campus which includes staffing and scheduling activities that are aligned with student passions and interests.
-
Care for and support all students’ social and emotional well-being by providing pastoral care (e.g., placement, discipline, support, guidance and communication with parents)
-
Implement high standards of student safeguarding and well-being.
-
Serves as the Child Safeguarding Officer of the Vinh Campus.

Oversees the provision of offerings that provide students with leadership and service opportunities
-
Oversees the coordination of student assemblies and school trips.

Assigned teaching responsibilities.

Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Section and Superintendent.
Qualifications:
-
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and a teacher qualification issued by an international government authority. A leadership qualification in the education sector is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a teacher in a school.
-
Proven experience as a teacher and teacher leader.
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
