The model of an international standard boarding school - particularly the concept of an “in-country abroad study” - remains relatively new to many Vietnamese parents. To provide greater clarity, TH School Hoà Lạc will answer frequently asked questions about the boarding experience.

Why choose an international-standard boarding school in Vietnam?

As the first international-standard boarding school in Vietnam, TH School Hoà Lạc not only pioneers modern educational models but also focuses on nurturing the holistic development of students within a safe and friendly learning environment. TH School Hoà Lạc is not just an ordinary school; but also a second home where students learn to live independently, mature, and thrive in a multicultural and diverse community.

Explore the answers to frequently asked questions about the boarding experience below.

    1. How is student safety ensured?

The school strictly adheres to child protection and anti-bullying policies, ensuring a safe and healthy living environment for all boarding students. At TH School Hoà Lạc, the dormitory is guarded 24/7, with responsible adults always present to supervise and support students in case of emergencies.

    2. Is appropriate medical care promptly accessible?

The school nurse is on duty from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM to monitor, advise, and provide medical care for students. After school hours, the boarding team receives health updates from the nurse and continues to support students who may require medication or overnight care. If a student feels unwell in the evening or at night, dormitory staff and on-duty supervisors are always available to respond promptly and provide necessary assistance.

Parents are required to provide complete and up-to-date information regarding their child 's medical history, medications, and allergies prior to enrollment in the boarding program. This ensures that boarding staff are well-informed of each student’s specific health and dietary needs, allowing them to respond appropriately and effectively in any situation.

In all medical situations - from first aid and chronic condition management to emergencies - the school nurse provides guidance and coordinates with the school to follow proper procedures. When a hospital visit is necessary, the school will proactively contact parents to agree on the most timely and appropriate care plan for the student.

    3. Is transportation available for students to go home?

TH School provides transportation for boarding students from Hòa Lạc to central Hanoi on Friday afternoons and back on Monday mornings, with Chùa Bộc campus as the pick-up and drop-off point. Students must register in advance via the link sent by email.

In addition to the school bus service, students may also use public buses near the boarding area - boarding staff are always available to provide detailed guidance when needed.

If students want to leave campus outside of scheduled times, prior parental approval is required so the school can inform security and ensure safety.

    4. How is students’ phone usage regulated?

To promote healthy digital habits, TH School’s boarding program implements clear guidelines on electronic device usage. Upon returning to the dormitory, students are required to turn in their phones, laptops, and iPads to the boarding office. During the day, laptops and iPads may be used solely for academic purposes. All electronic devices must be turned off and are not permitted for use after 10:00 PM.

Students are allowed to use their phones to contact family and friends during certain time slots.

The school also encourages students to participate in sports, social interactions to maintain a healthy balance between academics, recreation, and mental well-being.

    5. Can parents visit students during boarding time?

Parents, relatives, or friends are welcome to visit, but advance notice must be given to the boarding manager via email or phone to schedule an appointment.

Once on site, visitors must register their visit by email or phone in advance. You will wait at the reception area and be assisted by staff to enter the boarding area. Meetings with students are limited to the first floor or the school’s playground. To ensure privacy and safety, visitors are not permitted to access student living areas.
