Experiential Learning: Exploring Gender Equality With UN Women

10th-grade (Global Perspectives) and 11th-grade (Sociology) students from TH School Hoà Lạc had the opportunity to visit the United Nations Women (UN Women) headquarters in Vietnam. This visit provided valuable insights into one of the most pressing global issues—gender inequality—and helped students gain a deeper understanding of UN Women’s role in advocating for women's rights.

During the visit, students had the privilege to hear from Ms. Caroline Nyamayemombe, the UN Women Representative in Vietnam. She shared key insights about UN Women’s core goals and initiatives, focusing on crucial topics such as gender-based violence prevention, women's economic empowerment, and leadership representations. These discussions emphasized the importance of data collection and analysis in shaping both national and global policies, which aligns closely with TH School student’s studies in Sociology and Global Perspectives.

The visit to the UN Women headquarters gave students a clearer understanding of how a global organization operates. They had the chance to observe how research, advocacy, and policy work are integrated to drive systemic change. This hands-on experience allowed TH School students to see firsthand the connection between academic knowledge and real-world application in addressing today’s global challenges.
