Congratulations to Team TH for their impressive wins at the Robotacon!
Team TH recently competed in the Robotacon, an annual competition organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training and Samsung Electronics, which sends a select number of teams to represent Vietnam at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO). After 2 days of fierce competition in Ho Chi Minh City against over 280 teams with 770 contestants from over 100 primary and secondary schools and universities in Vietnam, members of Team TH earned some very impressive results:
Do Duc Huy won the Bronze Medal for the B6 category.
Nguyen Tran Hai Dang, Pham Trung Hieu, and Luong Minh Khoa won the Bronze Medal for the B4 category.
And Nguyen Tran Tuan Dat and Nguyen Gia Minh were crowned champions of the B2 category. They will be one of five teams to represent Vietnam in the International Round of this year’s World Robot Olympiad in Thailand, which will take place in November.
Dang, Hieu and Khoa, who together won the bronze medal in the B4 category, reflected on their work in the contest, which focused on recycling coffee bean shells in the production of coffee. Their team sees many advantages to using rather than discarding coffee bean shells, particularly in Vietnam, the world’s second largest producer of coffee. “For us, this is not just a contest but also an opportunity to help reduce poverty, ensure food security, and provide more healthy and nutritious food.” The team expressed pride in their performance at the competition and would have liked to compete in the final in Thailand. “In the meantime,” they added, “the team will focus on editing the model and essay, and practice the presentation for a smoother delivery."
